Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. - Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. Hos. 1:10 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12 - And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. John 16:3 2. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. - For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Rom. 8:29 - But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor. 3:18 - Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Phil. 3:21 3. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. - Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. John 13:10 - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom. 5:5 - Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Cor. 7:1 4. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. - And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matt. 24:12 - But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. Rom. 7:8 - Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14 5. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. - The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor. 5:21 - For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb. 4:15 6. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. - And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph. 4:24 - And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3 - Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. 3 John 1:11 7. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. - (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. Rom. 2:13 - Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Eph. 5:6 - If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. 1 John 2:29 8. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Gen. 3:15 - Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44 - Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Eph. 2:2 9. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. - Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:13 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Pet. 1:23 - We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. 1 John 5:18 10. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. - The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; Matt. 13:38 - Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. John 8:44 - By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1 John 5:2 11. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:34 - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Rom. 13:8 - And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 2 John 1:5 12. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. - And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: Gen. 4:4 - And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. Gen. 4:8 - By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Heb. 11:4 13. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. - And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Matt. 10:22 - If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19 - Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. John 15:20 14. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35 - But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:11 15. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. - And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. Gen. 27:41 - But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. - As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:15 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom. 5:8 17. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? - If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: Deut. 15:7 - He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. Luke 3:11 - That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 1 Tim. 6:18 18. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. - And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. Ezek. 33:31 - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 7:21 - And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? James 2:16 19. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. - And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Isa. 32:17 - Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) Rom. 2:15 - For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Cor. 5:10 20. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. - Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Ps. 139:2 - My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. John 10:29 - He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. John 21:17 21. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. - My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live. Job 27:6 - For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. 2 Cor. 1:12 - Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb. 10:22 22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. - Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 - And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13 - And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. John 16:23 23. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. - Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1 - This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15:12 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31 24. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. - If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10 - But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Rom. 8:9 - Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. 2 Cor. 1:22 |
