↥ 2 Cor. 11NT with xrefs 1. Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. - We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. 1 Cor. 4:10 - For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 2 Cor. 5:13 - For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise. 2 Cor. 11:19 2. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. - For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Isa. 54:5 - And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. Hos. 2:19 - Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Col. 1:28 3. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. - Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Gen. 3:1 - And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:19 - Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Col. 2:8 4. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 - For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 3:11 - I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Gal. 1:6 5. For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Cor. 15:10 - I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. 2 Cor. 12:11 - But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me: Gal. 2:6 6. But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things. - For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1 Cor. 1:17 - But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 2 Cor. 4:2 - Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Eph. 3:4 7. Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? - And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. Acts 18:3 - Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. Acts 20:34 - For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong. 2 Cor. 12:13 8. I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service. - But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Phil. 4:10 - For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Phil. 4:16 - But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. Phil. 4:18 9. And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. - I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. Acts 20:33 - Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not your's but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. 2 Cor. 12:14 - For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. 1 Thess. 2:9 10. As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. - For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; Rom. 1:9 - I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, Rom. 9:1 - But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 1 Cor. 9:15 11. Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth. - The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,) Josh. 22:22 - I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 2 Cor. 12:2 - And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. 2 Cor. 12:15 12. But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. - Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 1 Cor. 5:6 - If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 1 Cor. 9:12 - For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. 2 Cor. 10:10 13. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matt. 7:15 - And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: Gal. 2:4 - I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: Rev. 2:2 14. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. - Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Gen. 3:1 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Cor. 2:11 - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Cor. 11:3 15. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. - Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Ps. 73:17 - And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Matt. 24:11 - Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Phil. 3:19 16. I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little. - Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. 2 Cor. 11:1 - Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 2 Cor. 12:5 - For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 2 Cor. 12:6 17. That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. - But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. 1 Cor. 7:6 - Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting. 2 Cor. 9:4 - Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Phil. 3:4 18. Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also. - Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: Jer. 9:23 - For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 2 Cor. 10:12 - For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. Phil. 3:3 19. For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise. - Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 1 Cor. 8:1 - I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. 1 Cor. 10:15 - Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Eph. 5:17 20. For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face. - And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also. Luke 6:29 - And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: Gal. 2:4 - For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. Heb. 10:34 21. I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also. - But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 2 Cor. 10:2 - For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. 2 Cor. 10:10 - Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction. 2 Cor. 13:10 22. Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I. - I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. Acts 22:3 - I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Rom. 11:1 - Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Phil. 3:5 23. Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. - For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Acts 9:16 - Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; 1 Cor. 4:11 - But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, 2 Cor. 6:4 24. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. - Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee. Deut. 25:3 - But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; Matt. 10:17 - But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. Mark 13:9 25. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; - And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Acts 14:19 - And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. Acts 16:22 - And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. Acts 27:41 26. In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; - But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. Acts 13:50 - And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them, Acts 14:5 - But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. Acts 17:5 27. In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. - In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; 2 Cor. 6:5 - I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Phil. 4:12 - For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. 1 Thess. 2:9 28. Acts 15:41 - And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples. Acts 18:23 29. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? - We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities. - And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 1 Cor. 2:3 - Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 2 Cor. 12:5 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor. 12:9 31. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not. - I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, Rom. 9:1 - Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth. 2 Cor. 1:23 - Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
