1. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

- And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labors, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labors out of the field. Ex. 23:16

- And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Deut. 16:10

- These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. Acts 1:14

2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

- And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, 1 Kings 8:10

- And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:12

- The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8

3. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

- And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; Isa. 11:2

- I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matt. 3:11

- And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. John 1:32

4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

- And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:17

- And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Acts 11:15

- And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 1 Cor. 12:28

5. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

- Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: Deut. 16:16

- For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. Isa. 66:18

- And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. Luke 2:25

6. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

- Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Gen. 11:7

- And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:2

- And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. Acts 3:11

7. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

- Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. Isa. 9:1

- And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. Matt. 4:18

- Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:11

8. And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

- Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 Cor. 13:1

- Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 1 Cor. 14:6

- Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 1 Cor. 14:22

9. Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

- And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, Acts 7:2

- And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. Acts 18:2

- Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 1 Pet. 1:1

10. Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

- Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem. Acts 13:13

- Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. Acts 13:43

- Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, Acts 16:6

11. Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

- Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Ex. 15:11

- Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats. 2 Chron. 17:11

- One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. Titus 1:12

12. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

- And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. Ex. 16:15

- And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. Luke 15:26

- And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? Acts 2:7

13. Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

- And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee. 1 Sam. 1:14

- Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles. Job 32:19

- If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 1 Cor. 14:23

14. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

- Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. Isa. 51:7

- Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. Isa. 52:8

- But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

15. For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

- And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. 1 Sam. 1:15

- And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, Matt. 20:3

- Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 Thess. 5:5

16. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

- But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Acts 3:18

- Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Acts 3:24

- For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. Acts 13:27

17. And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

- For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: Isa. 44:3

- And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Ezek. 36:27

- And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joel 2:28

18. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

- And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them! Num. 11:29

- And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. Joel 2:29

- And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy. Acts 21:9

19. And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

- And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. Joel 2:30

- And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Luke 21:11

- And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, Rev. 13:13

20. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

- The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. Joel 2:31

- And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: Amos 8:9

- Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Matt. 24:29

21. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

- And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Ps. 50:15

- And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. Joel 2:32

- Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 7:21

22. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

- But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Matt. 12:28

- The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. John 3:2

- How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10:38

23. Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

- And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: Luke 24:46

- But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Acts 3:18

- For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. Acts 4:28

24. Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

- This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Acts 2:32

- But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Rom. 8:11

- Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 2 Cor. 4:14

25. For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

- I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Ps. 16:8

- Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Ps. 73:23

- For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Isa. 41:13

26. Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

- Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. Ps. 16:9

- Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; Ps. 30:11

- My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. Ps. 71:23

27. Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

- For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Ps. 16:10

- But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. Ps. 49:15

- For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. Ps. 86:13

28. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

- Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Ps. 16:11

- As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. Ps. 17:15

- They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. Ps. 34:5

29. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

- So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David. 1 Kings 2:10

- After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty. Neh. 3:16

- For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: Acts 13:36

30. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

- And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 2 Sam. 7:12

- The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. Ps. 132:11

- Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. Ps. 89:4

31. He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

- For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Ps. 16:10

- But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. Ps. 49:15

- Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Acts 13:35

32. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

- But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

- Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. Acts 10:41

- Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 1 Cor. 15:15

33. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

- So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Mark 16:19

- But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

- And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. Acts 1:4

34. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

- The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Ps. 110:1

- If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? Matt. 22:45

- For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 1 Cor. 15:25

35. Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

- And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Gen. 3:15

- And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them. Josh. 10:24

- But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Heb. 1:13

36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

- And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matt. 16:16

- Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Acts 4:10

- The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Acts 5:30

37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

- Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do? Luke 3:12

- And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30

- And I said, What shall I do, LORD? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do. Acts 22:10

38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

- He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16

- And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Acts 17:30

- And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Acts 22:16

39. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

- And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: Jer. 32:39

- And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. John 10:16

- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Eph. 2:13

40. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

- They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. Deut. 32:5

- Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. Matt. 17:17

- That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Phil. 2:15

41. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

- Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Acts 2:37

- Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:47

- And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7

42. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

- Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:20

- And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. Luke 7:16

- And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. Acts 5:12

44. And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

- And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. Acts 4:32

- Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, Acts 4:34

- Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. Acts 5:4

45. And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

- He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Prov. 19:17

- Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. Luke 12:33

- And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Acts 6:1

46. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

- And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. Luke 24:30

- And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. Acts 5:12

- And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 5:42

47. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

- And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Acts 5:14

- And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7

- And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Acts 11:21
