1. Let brotherly love continue.

- A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:34

- Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Rom. 12:10

- Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 1 Pet. 1:22

2. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

- And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; Gen. 19:1

- For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Matt. 25:35

- Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Rom. 12:13

3. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

- My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city. Jer. 38:9

- Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Matt. 25:36

- For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. Heb. 10:34

4. Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

- Thou shalt not commit adultery. Ex. 20:14

- Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 1 Cor. 6:9

- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 1 Cor. 7:2

5. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

- Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deut. 31:6

- Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matt. 6:34

- Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Rom. 12:16

6. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

- The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Ps. 118:6

- And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt. 10:28

- What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Rom. 8:31

7. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

- And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 1 Thess. 5:12

- Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 2 Thess. 3:9

- I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Tim. 4:7

8. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

- Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. Isa. 41:4

- And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. Heb. 1:12

- I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Rev. 1:18

9. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

- For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. Jer. 29:8

- For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Rom. 14:17

- Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Col. 2:16

10. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

- The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation. Lev. 6:26

- Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer. 31:32

- Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. Gal. 5:2

11. For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

- But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering. Ex. 29:14

- Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt. Lev. 4:12

- And no sin offering, whereof any of the blood is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation to reconcile withal in the holy place, shall be eaten: it shall be burnt in the fire. Lev. 6:30

12. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

- And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses. Lev. 24:23

- And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: John 19:17

- For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Heb. 2:11

13. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

- And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp. Ex. 33:7

- Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2 Tim. 3:12

- Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. Heb. 11:26

14. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

- For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Phil. 3:20

- For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Heb. 11:10

- Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Pet. 3:13

15. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

- Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Ps. 50:23

- Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. Hos. 14:2

- Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Pet. 2:5

16. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

- Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Rom. 12:13

- For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; 2 Cor. 9:12

- But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. Phil. 4:18

17. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

- When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Ezek. 3:18

- And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 1 Thess. 5:12

- My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. James 3:1

18. Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

- And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day. Acts 23:1

- Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; Rom. 15:30

- For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. 2 Cor. 1:12

19. But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

- Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. Rom. 1:10

- That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. Rom. 15:32

- But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you. Philem. 1:22

20. Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

- And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. Ezek. 34:23

- And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 5:23

- And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 1 Pet. 5:4

21. Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

- And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Ezek. 36:27

- Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 2 Cor. 3:5

- For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Phil. 2:13

22. And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

- Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: 2 Cor. 10:1

- Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. Heb. 5:11

- By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. 1 Pet. 5:12

23. Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

- Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: Acts 16:1

- And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: 1 Thess. 3:2

- Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 2 Tim. 1:8

24. Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

- Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Phil. 1:1

- Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Heb. 13:7

25. Grace be with you all. Amen.

- The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 1 Cor. 16:23

- All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. Titus 3:15

- The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Rev. 22:21
