- Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? John 7:35

- Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 1 Pet. 1:1

2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

- Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Heb. 12:11

- Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12

- And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; Rom. 5:3

- For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Heb. 10:36

- That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 1 Pet. 1:7

4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

- Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt. 5:48

- Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 2 Thess. 1:11

5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

- Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matt. 7:7

- But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

- Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. Matt. 21:21

- Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? James 2:5

10. But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

- Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: Jer. 9:23

14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

- Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Cor. 15:33

- Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Gal. 6:7

17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

- John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. John 3:27

18. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

- (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. Rom. 2:13

23. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

27. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
