1. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

- All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. John 10:8

- And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. Heb. 5:4

- Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

2. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

- I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9

- Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:28

- Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb. 13:20

3. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

- But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. Isa. 43:1

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. John 5:25

- For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Rev. 7:17

4. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

- If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. John 12:26

- For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. John 13:15

- And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. Acts 22:14

5. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

- Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. Prov. 19:27

- That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Eph. 4:14

- We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:6

6. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

- Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. Matt. 13:13

- But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. Mark 9:32

- But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Cor. 2:14

7. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

- Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

- Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

- For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Eph. 2:18

8. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

- Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. Jer. 23:2

- There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. Ezek. 22:25

- For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Acts 20:29

9. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

- Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

- For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Eph. 2:18

- Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, Heb. 10:19

10. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

- Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Ps. 23:5

- And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

- He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom. 8:32

11. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

- The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. Ps. 23:1

- I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment. Ezek. 34:16

- Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb. 13:20

12. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

- His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Isa. 56:10

- For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered. Jer. 10:21

- For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces. Zech. 11:16

13. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

- This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. John 12:6

- Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things. Acts 18:17

- For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. Phil. 2:20

14. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

- The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nah. 1:7

- My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10:27

- Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Tim. 2:19

15. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

- All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Matt. 11:27

- Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

- But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom. 5:8

16. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

- And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Isa. 49:6

- Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matt. 28:19

- For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Eph. 2:14

17. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

- Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isa. 53:12

- And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Luke 23:46

- Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. Acts 2:24

18. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

- Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. John 2:19

- But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. John 14:31

- If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10

19. There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

- Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matt. 10:34

- And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; Luke 2:34

- And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. Acts 4:14

20. And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

- And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. Mark 3:21

- Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? John 8:48

- And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. Acts 26:24

21. Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

- The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: Ps. 146:8

- And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. John 9:7

- Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. John 9:32

22. And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

- While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Gen. 8:22

- Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter. Ps. 74:17

- But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: Matt. 24:20

23. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

- And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house. 1 Kings 6:3

- And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. Acts 3:11

- And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. Acts 5:12

24. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

- And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21

- And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Matt. 11:3

- Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: Luke 22:67

25. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

- The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. John 3:2

- But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. John 5:36

- Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. John 14:11

26. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matt. 7:15

- And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. John 8:45

- We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:6

27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. John 5:25

- But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Gal. 4:9

- Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Rev. 3:20

28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

- And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:40

- Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

- I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal. Job 27:11

- Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. Matt. 12:29

- All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37

30. I and my Father are one.

- Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9

- And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. John 17:11

- That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21

31. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

- And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. Ex. 17:4

- And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 1 Sam. 30:6

- Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:59

32. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

- But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. John 5:36

- Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Acts 2:22

- How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10:38

33. The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

- And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death. Lev. 24:16

- Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. Mark 14:64

- Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. John 5:18

34. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

- For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Gen. 3:5

- For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Ps. 8:5

- I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Ps. 82:6

35. If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

- There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. Josh. 21:45

- Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Luke 3:2

- Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. Luke 18:31

36. Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

- Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. John 6:27

- Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? John 9:35

- The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. John 19:7

37. If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

- Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. John 10:25

- Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:10

- If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. John 15:24

38. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

- The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. John 3:2

- Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. John 14:11

- That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21

39. Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

- But he passing through the midst of them went his way, Luke 4:30

- Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. John 7:30

- Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:59

40. And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

- And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. Mark 10:1

- These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. John 1:28

- And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. John 3:23

41. And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

- I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matt. 3:11

- The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29

- And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. John 1:34

42. And many believed on him there.

- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12

- This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. John 2:11

- Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: John 12:42
