Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. - And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. John 11:1 - And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 11:44 2. There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. - Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. Luke 10:38 - But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, - And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. 1 Sam. 17:28 - Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. - Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Isa. 53:10 - For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. Rom. 14:9 - Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 1 Cor. 15:36 25. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. - He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matt. 10:39 - And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Matt. 19:29 - I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal. 2:20 26. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3 - Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. John 17:24 - Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thess. 4:17 27. Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. - My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? Ps. 6:3 - Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. Matt. 26:38 - And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. Mark 14:35 28. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. - And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matt. 3:17 - While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Matt. 17:5 - For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 2 Pet. 1:17 29. The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. - And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: Mark 3:17 - And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. Rev. 10:3 - And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: Rev. 14:2 30. Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. - But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. John 5:34 - And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. John 11:15 - And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. John 11:42 31. Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. - And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Luke 10:18 - And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Col. 2:15 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. - And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. Num. 21:9 - And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: John 3:14 - Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. John 8:28 33. This he said, signifying what death he should die. - And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: Deut. 21:22 - That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die. John 18:32 - As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. John 21:9 34. The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man? - He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 2 Sam. 7:13 - And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. Ezek. 37:25 - And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. Dan. 7:14 35. Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12 - As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5 - But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:11 36. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. - Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:59 - For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: Eph. 5:8 - Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 Thess. 5:5 37. But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: - And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matt. 13:58 - He came unto his own, and his own received him not. John 1:11 - For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 1 Cor. 1:22 38. That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? - And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. Deut. 5:15 - The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Isa. 52:10 - Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? Isa. 53:1 39. Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, - How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 5:44 - No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 - Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. Acts 13:46 40. He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. - Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. Isa. 6:10 - (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. Rom. 11:8 - But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 2 Cor. 3:14 41. These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him. - In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Isa. 6:1 - Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Isa. 6:5 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 42. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: - But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 10:33 - These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. John 9:22 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom. 10:9 43. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. - And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, Matt. 23:6 - And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:15 - How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 5:44 44. Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. - He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. Matt. 10:40 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. John 13:20 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:23 45. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. - Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. John 8:19 - Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9 - Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Heb. 1:3 46. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19 - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12 - Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. John 12:35 47. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. - For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24 - Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. John 8:15 48. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. - And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Deut. 18:19 - Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. John 5:45 - If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. John 15:22 49. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. - I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Deut. 18:18 - Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. John 7:16 - Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:10 50. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 - Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. John 6:68 - And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3 |
