When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matt. 28:19 - And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. John 2:25 - And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. John 3:26 2. (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) - After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? - For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. Isa. 53:2 - The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. Matt. 12:42 - Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? John 8:53 13. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: - Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. - If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: Ps. 66:18 - Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Cor. 3:17 - For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
