1. After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

- And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. Matt. 4:18

- When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. Matt. 14:13

- After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. John 21:1

2. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

- And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. Matt. 4:24

- When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Matt. 8:1

- This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee. John 4:54

3. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

- And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: Matt. 5:1

- And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. Matt. 15:29

- And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12

4. And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

- Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: Deut. 16:16

- And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. John 2:13

- And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves. John 11:55

5. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

- And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. Luke 9:10

- Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. John 1:44

- Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35

6. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

- And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. Gen. 22:1

- Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart. 2 Chron. 32:31

- But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 1 Thess. 2:4

7. Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

- Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? Num. 11:22

- And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof. 2 Kings 4:43

- He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? Mark 6:37

8. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

- Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. John 1:44

9. There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

- And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat. 2 Kings 4:42

- He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. Mark 6:38

- Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. John 21:13

10. And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

- And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof. 2 Kings 4:43

- And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. Matt. 14:21

- For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. Luke 9:14

11. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

- When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Deut. 8:10

- And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. Matt. 14:19

- And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. Luke 24:30

12. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

- And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. Ex. 16:23

- So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD. 2 Kings 4:44

- And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store. 2 Chron. 31:10

13. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

- There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. Prov. 11:24

- And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. Matt. 15:37

14. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

- I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Deut. 18:18

- And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. John 1:21

- Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. John 7:40

15. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

- And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. Matt. 14:23

- Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. John 12:13

- Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:36

16. And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,

- And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. Matt. 14:22

- After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. John 21:1

17. And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

- When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness. Job 30:26

- And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. Mark 6:45

- When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. John 6:24

18. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

- For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. Ps. 107:25

- He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries. Ps. 135:7

- But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. Matt. 14:24

19. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

- Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea. Job 9:8

- And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. Matt. 14:25

- And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. Mark 6:48

20. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

- Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isa. 41:10

- And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. Matt. 14:26

- And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: Rev. 1:17

21. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

- Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. Ps. 107:30

- And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. Mark 6:51

- Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Rev. 3:20

22. The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;

- And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. Mark 6:45

- After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. John 6:1

- And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. John 6:17

23. (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)

- And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. Matt. 26:26

- And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. Luke 24:30

- And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. John 6:11

24. When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

- When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. John 6:15

- Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast? John 11:56

- Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? John 18:4

25. And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

- And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Mark 9:5

- Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? John 1:38

- Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. John 20:16

26. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

- The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. John 4:15

- For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. Phil. 2:21

- Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Phil. 3:19

27. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

- Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Isa. 55:2

- And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. John 1:32

- Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:54

28. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

- And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then? Luke 3:10

- Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Acts 2:37

- And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30

29. Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

- No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44

- And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31

- For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Phil. 2:13

30. They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

- Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. Matt. 12:38

- And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. Luke 11:29

- For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 1 Cor. 1:22

31. Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

- And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. Ex. 16:15

- And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them. Neh. 9:15

- And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Ps. 78:24

32. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

- Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. Ex. 16:4

- This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. John 6:58

- But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Gal. 4:4

33. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

- And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:13

- I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51

- (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 1 John 1:2

34. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

- Give us this day our daily bread. Matt. 6:11

- The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. John 4:15

- Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. John 6:26

35. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

- Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matt. 5:6

- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

- They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. Rev. 7:16

36. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

- He came unto his own, and his own received him not. John 1:11

- But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. John 6:64

- But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: John 12:37

37. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

- And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28

- As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. John 17:2

- And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev. 21:27

38. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

- And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matt. 26:39

- Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John 4:34

- I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:30

39. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

- And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28

- While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:12

- That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none. John 18:9

40. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

- Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. John 11:24

- Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb. 12:2

41. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

- And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. Luke 19:7

- For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. John 6:33

- And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

42. And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

- Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. Mark 6:3

- And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? Luke 4:22

- Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. John 7:27

43. Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

- So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way. Gen. 45:24

- And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? Mark 9:33

- And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people. John 7:12

44. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

- The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jer. 31:3

- I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them. Hos. 11:4

- But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Cor. 2:14

45. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

- And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isa. 54:13

- And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Jer. 31:34

- But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

46. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

- All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. Luke 10:22

- And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. John 5:37

- Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9

47. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

- He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

- These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13

48. I am that bread of life.

- And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

- The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 1 Cor. 10:16

- And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 1 Cor. 11:24

49. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

- Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. John 6:31

- But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 1 Cor. 10:5

- But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? Heb. 3:17

50. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

- And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Gen. 3:22

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. John 8:51

- And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:26

51. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

- And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19

- And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:13

52. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

- Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? John 3:9

- The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. John 6:41

- And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people. John 7:12

53. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

- For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matt. 26:28

- Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:4

- He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5:12

54. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

- He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

- But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

55. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

- That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John 1:9

- I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. John 15:1

- And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 1 Cor. 11:24

56. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

- And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 John 3:24

- Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 1 John 4:15

57. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

- For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; John 5:26

- I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal. 2:20

- In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9

58. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

- Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. John 6:32

- Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. John 6:49

- I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51

59. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

- And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: Matt. 4:13

- When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. John 6:24

- Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. John 18:20

60. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

- Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. John 8:43

- My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10:27

- Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. Heb. 5:11

61. When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

- And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Isa. 8:14

- And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. John 2:25

- Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Heb. 4:13

62. What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

- So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. Mark 16:19

- If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? John 3:12

- And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:13

63. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

- So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Rom. 10:17

- Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Cor. 3:6

- For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Gal. 6:8

64. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

- And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. John 2:25

- But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. John 10:26

- For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. John 13:11

65. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

- I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them. Hos. 11:4

- All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37

- No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44

66. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

- This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. 2 Tim. 1:15

- For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. 2 Tim. 4:10

- They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 1 John 2:19

67. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

- And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? Ruth 1:11

- And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. Mark 10:22

- For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Luke 14:28

68. Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

- Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. Ps. 73:25

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

- Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. Acts 5:20

69. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

- And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matt. 16:16

- But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:31

- Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb. 11:3

70. Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

- And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; Luke 6:13

- And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. John 13:27

- Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16

71. He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

- And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor, Josh. 15:25

- Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. Ps. 41:9

- Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, Matt. 26:14
