Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. - And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, Matt. 21:1 - And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. Luke 21:37 - Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. Acts 1:12 2. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. - In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. Matt. 26:55 - And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him. Luke 21:38 - And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. Acts 5:21 3. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, - And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. Num. 15:32 - And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. Jer. 3:8 - But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Matt. 5:32 5. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? - Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. Deut. 22:21 - If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel. Deut. 22:22 - Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbor's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you. Deut. 22:24 6. This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. - O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. Jer. 17:13 - And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. Matt. 12:10 - Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 1 Cor. 10:9 7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. - The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you. Deut. 17:7 - Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Rom. 2:1 - For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10 8. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. - Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? John 7:1 - But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Cor. 2:14 38. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. - Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: Deut. 6:4 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. - That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. John 5:23 - For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. - To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it. Jer. 6:10 - There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Rom. 3:11 - Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Rom. 8:7 44. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 45. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. - For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3:20 - The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. John 7:7 - Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Gal. 4:16 46. Which of you convinceth me of sin? John 11:26 - By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Heb. 11:5 52. Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. - Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever? Zech. 1:5 - Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
