After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. - And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 - For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 2 Cor. 2:15 - Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. Deut. 30:14 - Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion. Isa. 52:2 - But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium. Acts 13:51 12. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. - For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her. Lam. 4:6 - As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. Ezek. 16:48 - Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Matt. 10:15 13. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. - But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. - And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. - Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. John 12:31 - And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. Rev. 9:1 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Rev. 12:9 19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. - Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Ps. 91:13 - They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:18 - And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Acts 28:5 20. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. - Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Matt. 7:22 - He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Rev. 3:5 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev. 21:27 21. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. - Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. Isa. 29:14 - For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 1 Cor. 1:19 - But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1 Cor. 1:27 22. All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matt. 28:18 - Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. Heb. 2:8 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:23 23. And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: - And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matt. 16:17 - For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Luke 2:30 - For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Cor. 4:6 24. For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. - Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. John 8:56 - These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Heb. 11:13 - Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 1 Pet. 1:10 25. And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? - The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. Matt. 16:1 - And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Luke 18:18 - And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30 26. He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? - And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. Acts 28:23 - For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. Rom. 10:5 - Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. Gal. 3:21 27. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. - Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD. Lev. 18:5 - For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. Rom. 10:5 - And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Gal. 3:12 29. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? - Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Ex. 20:16 - Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. - Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. Matt. 16:22 - And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. Mark 3:21 - And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. Luke 12:13 41. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: - Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Matt. 6:25 - And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. Luke 8:14 - There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. 1 Cor. 7:34 42. But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. - I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. Ps. 142:5 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
