1. Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

- But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Matt. 16:23

- It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Rom. 14:21

- Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend. 1 Cor. 8:13

2. It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

- But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matt. 18:6

- Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. Matt. 18:14

- But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Pet. 2:1

3. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

- Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him. Lev. 19:17

- Open rebuke is better than secret love. Prov. 27:5

- Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:20

4. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

- Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Matt. 18:22

- Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 1 Cor. 13:5

- Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Col. 3:12

5. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

- And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Matt. 9:28

- And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24

- The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Acts 14:9

6. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

- Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. Matt. 21:21

- Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23

- For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23

7. But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

- But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto. Deut. 12:18

- Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. Luke 15:25

- And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. Luke 23:26

8. And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

- And make me savory meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen. 27:4

- And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon. Gen. 43:16

- Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. Luke 12:37

9. Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

- Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. Gen. 6:22

- For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. Luke 7:8

- Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 1 Cor. 11:2

10. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. 1 Chron. 29:14

- And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Rom. 11:6

- Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? Rom. 11:35

11. And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

- And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, Luke 9:51

- And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Luke 13:22

- And he must needs go through Samaria. John 4:4

12. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

- All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be. Lev. 13:46

- And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 2 Kings 7:3

- And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land. 2 Chron. 26:21

13. And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

- And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. Matt. 9:27

- And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. Matt. 15:22

- And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. Matt. 20:31

14. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

- This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: Lev. 14:2

- And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matt. 8:3

- And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. John 9:7

15. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

- And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets. 2 Chron. 15:14

- And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Luke 1:42

- And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. Acts 3:8

16. And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

- But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. Mark 5:33

- When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Luke 5:8

- But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, Luke 10:33

17. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

- And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Gen. 3:9

- Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? Luke 15:8

- Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom. 1:21

18. There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

- They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: Ps. 106:13

- Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Ps. 50:23

- When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Matt. 8:10

19. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

- But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. Matt. 9:22

- And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. Mark 10:52

- And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. Luke 7:50

20. And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

- And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. Luke 19:11

- To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: Acts 1:3

- When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? Acts 1:6

21. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

- Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Matt. 24:23

- Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

- For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Rom. 14:17

22. And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

- And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. Matt. 9:15

- Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. John 7:34

- Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. John 13:33

23. And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

- Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Matt. 24:26

- For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. Mark 13:22

- And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. Luke 21:8

24. For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

- And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. Zech. 9:14

- And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Matt. 24:30

- But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Pet. 3:10

25. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

- The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. Ps. 118:22

- He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Isa. 53:3

- Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. Luke 9:22

26. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

- And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Gen. 6:5

- By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Heb. 11:7

- Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 1 Pet. 3:20

27. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

- And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. Gen. 7:7

- And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. Luke 12:19

- For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1 Thess. 5:3

28. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

- Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. Ezek. 16:49

- Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof. Zeph. 1:13

- And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Rev. 13:17

29. But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

- But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. Gen. 13:13

- Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; Gen. 19:24

- Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 1:7

30. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

- And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. Luke 21:34

- Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1 Pet. 1:13

- Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Rev. 1:7

31. In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

- Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. Prov. 11:4

- For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matt. 16:26

- Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Phil. 3:8

32. Remember Lot's wife.

- And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. Gen. 19:17

- But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Gen. 19:26

- Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 1 Cor. 10:6

33. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

- For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36

- He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. John 12:25

- And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Rev. 12:11

34. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

- And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. Ex. 11:5

- And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. Matt. 10:21

- And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. Luke 23:39

35. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

- And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. 1 Kings 3:18

- Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Isa. 47:2

- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thess. 4:17

36. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

- Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she. Job 39:30

- Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat. Hab. 1:8

- And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; Rev. 19:17
