Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. - Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. Ex. 12:15 - And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves. John 11:55 - Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor. 5:8 2. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. - The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Ps. 2:2 - Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, Matt. 26:3 - And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them. And he desired to see him. Luke 9:9 7. Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. - And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. Ex. 12:6 - In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even. Ex. 12:18 - Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee: Deut. 16:5 8. And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. - And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Matt. 3:15 - Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover? Matt. 26:17 - But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Gal. 4:4 9. And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? - And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. - Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: 1 Sam. 10:3 - Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? - And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: - But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! Luke 12:50 - Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. John 13:1 - But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. 1 Thess. 2:17 16. For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. - And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. Luke 13:29 - And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. Luke 14:15 - Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:21 17. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: - I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Ex. 24:8 - Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer. 31:31 - And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Heb. 9:22 21. But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table. - Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. Ps. 41:9 - Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. Mic. 7:5 - When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. John 13:21 22. And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed! - Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. Matt. 18:1 - And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. Matt. 20:21 - Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. Luke 9:46 25. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. - By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. Prov. 8:15 - Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. Isa. 32:1 - But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. Mark 10:42 26. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. - But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. Matt. 23:8 - And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. Luke 9:48 - If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. John 13:14 27. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. - Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matt. 20:28 - Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. Luke 12:37 - So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? John 13:12 28. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. - And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Matt. 26:40 - For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Heb. 2:18 - For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb. 4:15 29. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; - Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matt. 25:34 - Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32 - These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. - And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. Rev. 3:21 - Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: - And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. Job 1:12 - For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. Matt. 20:22 - Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Matt. 26:33 - Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 21:13 34. Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. - And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. John 12:27 - Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Heb. 5:7 45. And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, - While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. Matt. 25:5 - But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. Luke 9:32 - And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
