Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, - For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, Eph. 3:1 - I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph. 4:1 - Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, Col. 1:1 2. And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: - The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 1 Cor. 16:19 - Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. - That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Rom. 1:12 - Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation. 2 Cor. 7:4 - Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work. 1 Tim. 5:10 8. Gen. 16:5 - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isa. 53:5 - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Rom. 13:8 19. Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord. - For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. Philem. 1:7 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Heb. 13:17 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:4 21. Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say. - And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all. 2 Cor. 2:3 - I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
