↥ Rom. 15NT with xrefs 1. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. - Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. Rom. 14:1 - To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 1 Cor. 9:22 - Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Gal. 6:2 2. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. - Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Rom. 14:19 - Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 1 Cor. 10:24 - Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Phil. 2:4 3. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. - When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. Ps. 69:10 - For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. John 6:38 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Phil. 2:5 4. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. - This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. Ps. 119:50 - Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Cor. 10:11 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim. 3:16 5. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: - That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21 - Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor. 1:10 - Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Phil. 2:2 6. That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. - For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. Zeph. 3:9 - And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: Acts 4:24 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Eph. 1:3 7. Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: - But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matt. 15:24 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Matt. 23:27 - Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Acts 3:26 9. And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. - Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. 2 Sam. 22:50 - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. John 10:16 - For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Rom. 11:30 10. And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. - Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. Deut. 32:43 - Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth. 1 Chron. 16:31 - O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Ps. 67:4 11. And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. - O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. Ps. 117:1 - Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Ps. 67:3 - Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah: Ps. 68:32 12. And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. - And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: Isa. 11:1 - And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. Isa. 11:10 - I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Rev. 22:16 13. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom. 5:5 - Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Rom. 12:12 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal. 5:22 14. And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. - Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 1 Thess. 5:11 - I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 1 John 2:21 - But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 2:27 15. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, - Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 1 Cor. 10:1 - Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. 2 Pet. 1:12 - And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 2 Pet. 3:15 16. That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. - But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Acts 9:15 - As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. Acts 13:2 - Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Pet. 2:5 17. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. - But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Jer. 9:24 - That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Cor. 1:31 - But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 2 Cor. 10:17 18. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, - And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:20 - And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. Acts 21:19 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Rom. 16:26 19. Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. - And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:17 - And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: Acts 19:11 - Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. 2 Cor. 12:12 20. Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: - According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 1 Cor. 3:10 - To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand. 2 Cor. 10:16 - And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Eph. 2:20 21. But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand. - Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. Isa. 9:1 - So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. Isa. 52:15 - I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. Isa. 65:1 22. For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you. - After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. Acts 16:7 - Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. Rom. 1:13 - Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. 1 Thess. 2:18 23. But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you; - After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome. Acts 19:21 - Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. Rom. 1:10 - Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? 1 Thess. 3:10 24. Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company. - That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Rom. 1:12 - And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. 1 Cor. 16:6 - Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 2 Tim. 1:4 25. But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints. - After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome. Acts 19:21 - Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings. Acts 24:17 - Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. Gal. 2:10 26. For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. - Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; 2 Cor. 8:1 - Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. 2 Cor. 8:4 - For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you: 2 Cor. 9:1 27. It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things. - And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Rom. 11:17 - If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 1 Cor. 9:11 - Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Gal. 6:6 28. When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. - There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. Prov. 19:21 - And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. Isa. 66:19 - And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. 1 Cor. 16:6 29. And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. - For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; Rom. 1:11 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Eph. 1:3 - Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Eph. 4:13 30. Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; - Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. 2 Cor. 1:11 - And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, Eph. 6:19 - For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Phil. 1:19 31. That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; - For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; 2 Cor. 9:12 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: 1 Thess. 2:14 - And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. 2 Thess. 3:2 32. That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. - That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Rom. 1:12 - For they have refreshed my spirit and your's: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such. 1 Cor. 16:18 - Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord. Philem. 1:20 33. Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. - Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 2 Cor. 13:11 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 5:23 - Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means.
