I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: - For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matt. 12:50 - And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. Luke 8:3 - Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 2 Cor. 3:1 2. That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. - He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. Matt. 10:40 - Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. Rom. 15:7 - Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: Phil. 2:29 3. Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: - And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 1 Cor. 16:19 4. Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord. Rom. 16:12 - Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work. 1 Tim. 5:10 7. Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. - And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them. - To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss. 1 Cor. 16:20 - Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. 1 Pet. 5:14 17. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. - Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 2 Thess. 3:6 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Tim. 3:5 - A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Titus 3:10 18. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. - For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Jer. 4:22 - Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matt. 10:16 - Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 1 Cor. 14:20 20. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Gen. 3:15 - And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them. Josh. 10:24 - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Rev. 22:21 21. Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. - Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: Acts 16:1 - And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus. Acts 20:4 - But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. Phil. 2:22 22. I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. - The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. 1 Cor. 16:21 - Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. Gal. 6:11 - The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. 2 Thess. 3:17 23. Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother. - So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season. Acts 19:22 - I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 1 Cor. 1:14 - The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 3 John 1:1 24. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. - And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. John 1:16 - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Cor. 13:14 - The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. 1 Thess. 5:28 25. Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, - Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 1:8 - But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 1 Cor. 2:7 - Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: Col. 1:26 26. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matt. 28:19 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:20 - By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: Rom. 1:5 27. To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. - In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2:3 - Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting.
