1. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

- And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Isa. 32:17

- But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isa. 53:5

- And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. Col. 1:20

2. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

- I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9

- And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Rom. 8:17

- Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, Heb. 10:19

3. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

- Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Cor. 12:10

- Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James 1:3

- That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 1 Pet. 1:7

4. And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

- We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 2 Cor. 4:8

- For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Heb. 10:36

- Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12

5. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

- Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. 2 Cor. 1:22

- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal. 5:22

- And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16

6. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

- But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Gal. 4:4

- And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Col. 2:13

- For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 1 Pet. 3:18

7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

- Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

- Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Rom. 16:4

- Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

- All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isa. 53:6

- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

- Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10

9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

- Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Rom. 3:24

- And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor. 6:11

- And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thess. 1:10

10. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

- And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Rom. 8:28

- And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: Eph. 2:16

- And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled Col. 1:21

11. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

- But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Jer. 9:24

- That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Cor. 1:31

- Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, Jude 1:24

12. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

- And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Gen. 3:6

- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom. 3:23

- For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 1 Cor. 15:21

13. (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

- For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; Rom. 2:12

- Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Rom. 4:15

- For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Gal. 3:10

14. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

- But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Gen. 2:17

- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 6:23

- For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Cor. 15:22

15. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

- He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isa. 53:11

- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

- And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2 Cor. 5:15

16. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

- In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Gen. 3:19

- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 6:23

- He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Heb. 10:28

17. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

- And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. John 1:16

- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

- And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. Rev. 22:5

18. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

- And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2

19. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

- He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isa. 53:11

- And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Phil. 2:8

- And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Heb. 5:9

20. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

- Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Rom. 3:20

- What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. Rom. 7:7

- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Eph. 1:7

21. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

- Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Rom. 5:14

- Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Rom. 6:16

- I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. Rom. 6:19
