↥ Titus 3NT with xrefs 1. Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, - Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Rom. 13:1 - That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim. 3:17 - Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 1 Pet. 2:13 2. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. - With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph. 4:2 - Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Col. 3:12 - And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 2 Tim. 2:24 3. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. - Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Rom. 1:29 - Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Eph. 2:3 - For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 1 Pet. 4:3 4. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, - He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom. 8:32 - But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Eph. 2:4 - For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Titus 2:11 5. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5 - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Rom. 3:20 - That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Eph. 5:26 6. Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; - And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joel 2:28 - Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:33 - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom. 5:5 7. That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. - And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Matt. 19:29 - And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Rom. 8:17 - And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom. 8:23 8. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:10 - Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14 - And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. Titus 3:14 9. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. - Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. 1 Tim. 1:4 - But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 2 Tim. 2:23 - Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Titus 1:14 10. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; - And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Matt. 18:17 - Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Rom. 16:17 - If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 2 John 1:10 11. Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. - Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. Acts 13:46 - Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. Rom. 14:22 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, Heb. 10:26 12. When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter. - And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus. Acts 20:4 - But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things: Eph. 6:21 - And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus. 2 Tim. 4:12 13. Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them. - And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. Acts 18:24 - As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time. 1 Cor. 16:12 - Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: 3 John 1:6 14. And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. - That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Col. 1:10 - Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14 - For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Pet. 1:8 15.
